Nishamalaki is a traditional combination of Haridra and Amalaki used since centuries for Diabetes mellitus. Treatment options for diabetes should not only include methods to control the blood sugar level but also to reduce the oxidative stress leading to many complications of diabetes. In this regard, Amalaki and Haridra are both excellent antioxidants and antidiabetic agents which not only help in regulating the blood sugar level but also reduces the oxidative damage to pancreas and other cells of the body.
