Here are some Gharelu Nukse i.e. household suggestions that can help you beat the heat:
• Diet: Ayurveda recommends eating a light, cooling diet during the summer months. This includes foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, especially that are cooling, such as cucumbers, watermelon, and leafy greens. It is also important to avoid spicy, oily, and heavy foods, as these can aggravate the body's heat.
• Drink plenty of fluids. Water is essential for staying hydrated, especially in hot weather. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water per day, or more if you are sweating a lot. Fluids like water, infused cucumber, watermelon water, etc. Swadeshi Dhagewali Khandsari Mishri and Saunf water (soaked overnight or even fresh) is one of the most potent combinations to beat the heat quickly and effectively. Buttermilk too is very effective during the summers. Even Barley water, Jaggery (soaked overnight) water etc. Infused Water using mint, cucumber, and watermelon, vetiver, nannari etc.
• Eat cooling foods. Ayurvedic experts recommend eating foods that are cool in nature, such as fruits, vegetables, and yoghurt. Avoid eating heavy, oily, or spicy foods, as these can make you feel hotter.
• Other Herbal remedies: There are a number of herbal remedies that can help to cool the body and relieve heat-related symptoms. Some of the most common herbs used for this purpose include:
• Aloe vera: Aloe vera is a cooling herb that can be applied topically to the skin to relieve heat rash, sunburn, and other heat-related skin problems. It can also be taken internally as a juice or capsule.
• Chamomile: Chamomile is a calming herb that can help to reduce stress and anxiety. It can also be used to cool the body and relieve heat-related symptoms. Chamomile can be taken as tea or applied topically as a compress.
